Mary’s Blood
are a four-piece all-female Japanese heavy metal band from Tokyo. Lead vocalist EYE, guitarist SAKI, bassist RIO and drummer MARI took the J-metal scene by storm with their debut in 2009 from the ashes of J-metal “girls band” pioneers Destrose. Combining modern power metal with the raw metal energy of the genre’s 1980s classic period, Mary’s Blood is setting the trend for contemporary J-metal and set to make a significant international impact.
To date the band has released five critically-acclaimed full-length albums and three EPs as well as numerous concert DVDs. Their latest release CONFESSiONS was released in Japan in 2019 on Japanese major label Tokuma Records and is being released in Europe on JPU Records. Mary’s Blood has toured Japanese extensively and performed in Dallas, Texas in the United States and supported UK heavy metal icons Dragonforce in Hong Kong. October 2019 sees the band make their UK live debut performing in London as they headline the first night of METAL MATSURI, the first ever all-Japanese metal festival outside of Japan. March of 2020 will see the band embark on their first ever European tour.
